After Soul Carrier and his companions are brought to Sorvina's lab, where Ur was also kept. She performs a ritual and drinks the carrier's blood believing that it will grant her beauty but instead Malacay possesses her and after creating a few Malar escapes.

Soul carrier breaks free of his magical bonds and after killing the guards revives his companions and goes before ur. The patriarch warns his children about malacay's plan and instructs them to go the Crystal Forest to find his old lab before passing away. Afterwards Nightsong and her bodyguards arrive at the prison in hopes of finding sorvina but the shaikan explains the situation to her, she also informs him that there is a civil war going on in Shal and she has no choice but to ask him for help which he agrees only if her forces will aid him in the hunt.

Nightsong claims that in order to control the city they need to conquer 15 depots that are located throughout the city. The shaikan organizes and trains a small but effective army of norcaine rebels and one by one captures every single depot in the city. Afterwards nightsong expresses her gratitude and decides to aid the carrier in his hunt, hoping to end the war with a sword in sorvina's chest. Then they travel through the portal to Crystal Wastes starting Chapter: The Hunt.
