The Foot of Barga Gor was a devastated wasteland close to the Barga Gor volcano in SpellForce 3. It was home to the orcs of Nortander during and after the Mage Wars; the Firewielder tribe as well as the Ashreavers were often found in the area.

In th shadow of the eponymous mountain lies the wasteland referred to as the "Foot of Barga Gor". It is home to the orcish tribe called the Firewielders, as welll as many unforgiving beasts, from the undead to demons.

While most travelers stay away from Barg Gor for this very reason, the Firewielders cherish their homeland's perils. According to orcish culture, only through constant conflict and danger can a people stay strong and persevere

Background information[]

Because of the unrest caused by the humans due to the Mage Wars, the orcs had been careful to not to rouse to much attention. Other than the Ashreavers and the Fleshkins they remained among themselves and did not attack neighboring territory.

Krell's rebellion[]

According to Krell this was a break with the rules given by the Struggle. According to him this would lead to a decline in power because a time with peace would weaken the warriors and their fighting prowess would be lost.

Krell's plans were critized by other shamans such as Gor, Zarghol or Elder Zilrach. However he still proceeded and he subdued the other clans of the tribe by force and even dispatched Qrrak to kill Zarghol.

If it were not for Corporal Tahar who arrived at the Great Cal at the Foot of Barga Gor, Krell would have been waging war on the country of Nortander. Instead he was defeated and killed in a duel with Gor in accordance with the laws given by Zarach.

Kagan's attack[]

When Gor had joined Corporal Tahar's side in his fight against the Purity after he had learned about his heritage, he was informed that Kagan, an Ashreaver high-chieftain, had invaded the Foot of Barga Gor. He was besieging the Firewielder tribe and demanded Gor's head. The group went to the Cals and tried to negotiate with Kagan, but his hatred was so strong, that he refused to listen - even after the Masked Priest arrived and the Purity of Light attacked.

You actually came. I am impressed, Gor, I thought a coward like you would have let his pale-skinned friends to the hard part by themselves
Kagan to Gor during the meeting

Gor either had the choice to directly fight the Ashreavers. Alternatively he could try to show strength by fighting back the Purity of Light who had dispatched an army of their own to annihilate the Cals. Either way, Kagan would be stripped of his position as a high-chieftain as a result and the Ashreavers would be forcibly integrated within the Firewielder tribe by Gor and Elder Zilrach.

For now, we will follow the pale-skin named Tahar in his fight against the white-robed heretics who renounce both Zarach and the Guardians and who want to bring an end to our people. Afterwards, our army will roam the mountains of Barga Gor like no other tribe ever did before. [...] As a people, united in strength and wisdom alike

Geography[]

PowerStruggle NokClan

Within the wastelands the different clans of the Firewielder tribe each had their own Cal. The Kae-Ran, the Karr, the Nok and the Zul each were living an isolated live within their own territory. Outside the Firewielders' territory there was extreme hostile and dangerous because of the many enemies such as demons and undead. Sharp edges, only few vegetation and only a sparse amount of resources made it difficult to expand within these areas.

The Great Cal[]

In the central area of the Foot of Barga Gor a huge Cal could be found: The Great Cal. Within this area the leaders of the Firewielder tribes were often organizing themselves. Led by Zarghol, Elder Zilrach and many orc elders, this area was of extreme importance for maintaining the balances within the tribes in check.

The Caverns[]

On the surface many creatures were roaming the area but in the Caverns below there had also been quite a scenery. Once the orcs dug for resources such as iron and bricks for constructing their Cals and for forging their weapons. By the time of the Mage Wars the area had pretty much been abandoned by the Firewielder clans; only a few rogue goblins and a few demons were calling this place their home.

Inhabitants[]

The Firewielder Clans[]

Unlike in your kind, a Firewielder is not just a Firewielder. Every tribe has dozens of clans with different weapons, traditions and sometimes even different languages.
Gor about the different clans

Within the Firewielder tribe there were some minor clans; each with their own leaders, their own culture and their own military force. There were largely independant but they would join together if an outsider or a common enemy were to appear.

Noteable inhabitants[]

There were some influential characters that would appear during the Corporal's visits in the area.
