Liliath, leader of the Bane

The Bane was a group of religious fanatics following the sermons of the Purity in SpellForce 3. The mercenary group was led by the vicious human woman Liliath. Since the Mage Wars she had been a strong follower of the Purities' preachings against the abuse of mage force and the branding of mages as defilers.

Pardon my tongue but I doubt the Bane gives a shit. They say they are acting out Aonir's will, but the truth is, they are just a bunch of radical, racist fanatics

After Rondar Lacaine had enabled the persecution of defilers who abused magic against the human society the Bane was the very first organisation to join the mage hunt. This fanatism developed even further after Rondar Lacaine took over Greyfell from lord regent Angar Arandir after the magical outburst in The Eye.

The more radical the Bane's outburst of violence became, the more Lacaine renounced them... but, of course, only towards the Crown and in public. In secret, he just let them run free. Now, they are the worst the Purity has to offer - their beatings became public executions and instead of vandalizing, they burned down entire villages. I am not even sure they care for Aonir anymore... they just want an outlet for their hatred.

Units[]

The Bane's units were based of the regular military units of the Nortander royal army. However most of the soldiers were wearing masks and in general almost any Purity soldier had slightly improved combat power compared to the royal army variant. Now following is a list of all units supporting the Purity in battles:

Allies[]

As only one of the pillars supporting the Purity the Bane never stood alone. It was supported by Lacaine's Lightbringers, Katras' Deathmen as well as the Purities' latest creation, the Iron Ones. Combining all those powers, the Purities' forces were proving a tough challenge in battles and were not to be underestimated.
