When having passed through the portal from Leafshade Einar stated that something went amiss in the Shiel. The fortress had been overrun by Brannigan's forces and the remaining Utran soldiers had retreated to a camp in the north-west.
Curing the Lord Commander[]
When coming there it was revealed by Captain Bahir that the commander Tynar is suffering from an unknown poison. Before granting the rune warrior any soldiers Bahir wanted the rune warrior to go to Liannon to the renowned healer Shan Muir. There is a portal in the south which could be accessed to travel to the island.
Shan then revealed to the rune warrior that the symptoms of the commander are that of a deadly poison from the time of the circle called the Black Kiss. She needed Alfalas herbs to cure it but that herb only grew in the north of Liannon and the gate there was blocked by a strone gate to prevent attacks from the goblin tribe there. Upon having asked the bridge guard the guard will grant a key opening the gate.
Going after Burgle and the Alfalas[]
On the other side the herb is in a cache close to the goblin camp. The goblins are led by a goblin named Burgle but they were all pretty weak and thus it proved no challenge to the rune warrior. Shan then created the Alfalas potion for the commander who instantly went better after captain Bahir brought it to him in the Shiel.
Proceeding to the monument[]
Tynar then granted the rune warrior some warriors to liberate the elven monument close-by from the minotaurs. He also warned that the black fist had stationed alarm posts close-by and that a special route should be taken to avoid too early discovery. The elven monument then was used to quickly create an elven rune army.
Liberating the Shiel[]
There are two main goals and loads of minor goals to accomplish liberating the Shiel.
Camp of the Black Fist[]

Directly east of the elven monument there was a huge camp of the Black Fist led by the orc commander Com wealing dual flaming swords. He was a dangerous fighter and he was accompanied by lots of orc fighters and shamans within a heavily fortified camp. Best way to fight him was separating him from his accomplices when then fighting him with numbers. Destroying his camp stopped the continous attacks by the fist orcs making the advance to the Utran fortress easier.
Fortress Utran[]
The fortress of Utran lies in the south and was overrun by Brannigan's forces. Alongside with the orcs and bandits there were also some dark elf mercenaries. Once the fortress had been retaken by the rune warrior's forces the remaining Utran refugees will start wandering to the fortress.
Smaller Camps[]
Along the Shiel islands there are couple of smaller camps with bandit groups, Norcaine marauders and some orc war bands. They don't prove much as a challenge on their own but combined they will be difficult to beat when their numbers become to great. Some major characters among them are a bit tougher and should be considered in combat:
Breaking to the Wildland Pass[]
After the fortress had been freed by the rune warrior Lord Commander Tynar then stated that another army of Brannigan had come from the Wildland Pass. The army consisted of the elite of the Black Fist and would have been unbeatable even for the elven rune army much less for the Utranian forces. However there is a Dryad altar in the very east.

The Dryad altar[]
The shrine of the dryads could be found far behind the frontlines - by using a secret passage the rune warrior was able to slip through to conduct the ritual.
The dryad of the Shiel was an extremely powerful entity and would be able to obliterate the orcs with ease. However to lure one of of their forest the rune warrior had to sacrifce a thousand units of Lenya at the altar at night time. He also marked a few locations on the rune warrior's map where to find that resource in the Shiel. With the power of a Dryad the orc army was defeated. Once the rune warrior has entered the portal the follow-up quest At the Wildland Pass.
